A Net of Information

The Media That Raised UsGlobal Beat

“The media is the most powerful entity on earth. They have the power to make the innocent guilty and to make the guilty innocent.” - Malcolm X

The media is a net of information that travels between people, shares their status, and helps spread the world news.

The media helped us in every aspect of this pandemic. We used some websites to help us continue our education and work, students took their classes from their homes, and the people who used to work from their offices can now work from their houses and complete their work.

A very obvious benefit of sharing information in the media is that it helps us find almost anything. If we are looking for certain information, we go to Google. If we want to talk to someone, we send a message on one of the many social media apps that we have on our phones, and, even if we are not looking for information and we are just reading a newspaper or watching a news channel, we will get information about our world.

We really need to appreciate the media for what opportunities it gives us nowadays. We don’t need a degree to work with many people. We can start a channel on YouTube or establish a website to share our thoughts, and that’s what is really special about the media today: everyone can do what they like, how they like it, and around the globe they find people that like what they do. It’s really nice to see that people who don’t even know you will support you.

The media is a beautiful place, a place full of information that’s free for everyone to explore. It feels like an adventure, but some adventures are dangerous.

When we go through the media to look for information to expand our knowledge, we need to remember that the ones who wrote the information are humans like us, and humans make mistakes, so we can’t trust every piece of information we read. We need to look through the sources of the information for who wrote it and if it comes from a trustworthy source.

Another thing we need to look out for is personal information. This is the age of information, and we need to be careful when we give our personal information to a website. We need to check if the website is safe.

The problem with media in our time is that the information we get is not always the full truth; there are a lot of conflicts in our world and sometimes the media is sided with one part of the conflict, so we will not hear the full story. We will always be blinded by who the media sides with. I don’t think we can find a way to stop this because it’s the way things happen and that’s because, as Jim Morrison said, “whoever controls the media controls the mind.”

Some of us really improved ourselves with media and some destroyed ourselves. We can’t deny that the media has a huge impact on us; the media gives us a million doors and every door is a perspective. Some are bad and some are good, but, in the end, we choose what perspective we live with because we can judge what we see.

The media is a really powerful tool. It can shape people’s perceptions of the world and its conflicts. We can’t deny that it has helped us, but everything in this world has pros and cons. It’s about the way we use the media.
