Creativity Changes Our Life

Fun and CreativityGlobal Beat

For two to three months, I participated in a drawing competition and am proud to say I got first prize in it. The most astonishing thing was that I was in the senior group. The seniors were darn better artists than me but only I got the prize.

On the one hand, I was happy, floating up like a balloon as I got the prize, but in the sky, a bird of doubt tried to burst my balloon! There was a question in my mind: why did I get the prize? The seniors did better than I did.

At lunch time, I went to the judge who was eating her lunch, and asked her “ma’am I have a question in my mind.”

She looked at me with happiness, “Ok champ tell me what is it. ”

“Ma’am I drew a normal drawing in the competition and the seniors drew many awesome drawings, so what was the reason you chose my drawing ?”

She looked at me kindly and said, “Champ, the reason we chose you was the level of creativity. The topic of the competition was ‘Gandhi and his teachings of others.’ The older students drew very nice drawings, but they just drew the expected: a sketch of Gandhi, some monuments, and the same Indian flag. But you— you drew something different which really suited the topic. Do you know creativity really matters?” She kindly patted me and I went from there and now I know that creativity really matters and yes, everyone in my community encourages and supports creativity .

Whenever I do something new which no one has ever seen, everyone is proud of me and from their expressions I find that they do support me and my creativity . Now it’s not just that being creative gives you lots of praise and support; creativity almost changes our life. Often you must have heard people saying, “I am bored doing this work.” Why do you think they get bored? The reason behind this is the way of doing the work. If the work would be a bit more interesting , everyone would love to do it. Creativity could make this work interesting! If we do the same work in a way we like, there will be nothing boring in that work. This is how creativity changes our life.

Don’t be bored!
Don’t take the load!
Problems are part of life
You can tear them out with your knife!
To tear this boredom
You’ll need a different knife
Its name is creativity!
