My society values each other. Every individual is a book, the story of which he/she writes himself/herself. Chapters are divided into two sections: “Past” and “Future.” The first section includes the highlights that have had the most impact on shaping your future. So, if you don’t read the part about the past, you won’t understand what’s going on in the next chapters.

When you first meet a new person, you turn the cover of the book and start reading. You frequently come across different numbers. I've known since I was a kid how crucial they are. We had to count from one to 10 in order to be a pupil. We believed that if the lilac flower has more than three petals, it would bring happiness. Mom and I went to the clearing where a huge amount of clover grew. She said if you found a two-petalled clover, it would fulfill your wish. The little things that are in books of my relatives and at the same time in my own story. The little details which we are made of. The past that affected our present, the future at that time. Therefore, when I see a clover, I always stop to find one with two petals.

Some pages have a special smell that helps to look even more into the past. The smell that is in my mother’s book is the smell of the street. When I asked her: “What does it smell like?,” my mother said, “Freedom.” It made me think. What does that freedom smell like?

After opening my father's book, it becomes clear what fills the room in his presence — the smell of his childhood. When I was a little kid, we used to hide under the blanket and pretend we were in a cabin while it was cold outside. Now I understand — I was reading his book at that moment. His smell — the smell of a warm house and snow outside the window.

Throughout our lives, we record our story by writing down what helps us become what we are. Unfortunately, we frequently forget about the quality of this book. You must admit, everyone has a slightly torn page on which there are the moments that destroy you while reading. But they also bring a lot to your today and tomorrow. Some of us manage to get to the restorers. These are people who help you to turn your book into something startlingly beautiful. Restorers assist you by connecting the missing pieces of the page to the ones that have always been with you. They turn your broken history into one that will help you to be reborn and stronger. The missing piece may be tiny, but once it’s in place, you’ll realize how significant it is.

My eyes have seen many lives. For example, in a shopping mall. At first glance, everyone is united only by the location and knowledge of where to come and what to buy. I think there are many people here with a similar past. Most likely, someone like me has a dream of finding a two-leaf clover or maybe someone also had citrus allergies in the past, like me.

Humanity is connected with the past and the future. However, you don’t know what will make this contact: the smell, your favorite toy, memories, or even allergies. We value our past and people in it, because the future is all that was done in the past.
