The Courage to Change
What if you decide to leave your town and go to another one? You will realize how big the world is. Some of us need this big change, but it requires courage. Changing your life means endless opportunities are waiting for you. I think there are two types of people. First, people who think the place we were born is the place we have to die. These kinds of people might like routine and don’t know how to choose the way they like to live, or maybe they like to live with their families, and they don’t care if they don’t catch a plane in their whole lives.
And the second kind of people, which I like to call the figure-out or finder people, like to learn from their experiences and figure out how to do new things and discover skills. I see these people have flexibility in dealing with a new situation, and are able to accept others, build resilience, and learn swiftly. I don’t mean they don’t like their families, but friendship is important to have when moving away from hometowns, because meeting new people will spark our minds to discover this big world and the multiple types of people.
So, leaving your homeland doesn't mean you don’t love it, it means expanding your perceptions and not judging people by the way they eat, worship, believe, or even mourn. This in turn benefits society and helps spread coexistence and peace in the whole world.
