Music has influenced cultures and societies across the world for many generations, and people listen and interact with music everyday. There are two main reasons why music plays a crucial role in our community and how music helps people express emotions beyond words.

First, music is a great way to release stress or help set the mood of the situation you’re in. For example, when listening to music with your friends, you will usually want to play happier music. The reason for this is, if you are spending time with your friends, it will usually be a happy time you're experiencing. Another example is when you encounter a bad experience in life, you will listen to sad music, which proves how music can help with stress management and your mood. According to studies, 63% of people listen to sad music when they encounter a tough event in their life. This proves how music can distract us from negative feelings and provide social support.

Second, many schools are required to have an orchestra which is a great way for students to interact with music. I am in the school orchestra and I have been there since fifth grade, and it has helped me with my time management and improved my creativity. It also gives me a long-term goal and teaches me not to give up. Once you achieve a certain goal that you have been aiming for, it is the best feeling ever, and once I feel like I’m improving in violin or any other thing that I’m doing, it makes me feel like I’m putting it into achieving a huge goal. This feeling of deciding to take on this long-term goal is what makes music so special and is why it deserves a mention in how music plays a huge role in the community.
