Life's Quintessence
A sumptuous delicacy, sour and sweet
Bitter at times, but a feisty feast
A subtle symphony of righteousness and goodwill
Mellow melody that comes along, a dream to fulfill
Elegant as a lyrical pirouette, poetic as a virtuous verse
A fable of morality and peace, a literary ocean to immerse
Oneself, where the azure waters so pure
And the aqua’s salty tang, that shall allure
With its scintillating scent and the aquamarine hue
Portrays rejuvenation, peeling away sorrows, a tinge of blue
A serene shower of mercy, pouring a blessing
Nourishing one’s soul to the core, gently caressing
Translucent, ambiguous notions left a hazy impression:
What is the essence of life, Lord? That was my question
To which the dignified divine gently reverts:
It isn’t essence my child; it’s quintessence,he clearly asserts
Personify the inanimate, add attributes of the living
And do remember, to give it a prudent poetic filling
And yes, I did frame the answer, an accomplishment
For the power of written word is eternal enrichment
