And the way they flow

The way it breathes

All the way up high

But the one thing

Is turning the pages

From the book which I hold

I am drifting, I am drifting

From the story on the page

It takes me in

Without so much as a wage

It is books that distract me

From all that I did

But I read them

So I don’t think about you
