Ode to Music

Oh music, my comfort
My youth, my love, my thoughts,
my beautiful child

Oh music, your soft lullabies rock me to sleep
Your notes flourish breaking through the soil, like little sprouts
You are the breeze on a stuffy day
You are the sweet fragrance floating along the way

Oh music, the taste of you so bittersweet
Like an orange, bursting flavorfully through my mouth
Your beat resonates deep within me,
Your voice is shattering me from within

How can you be so beautiful?
Yet so angry, and undying?
Yet so soft, and calming?
Yet so wonderfully passionate?

Oh music, I have studied you since i was just a child
Just a small little girl hoping to bring glory upon herself
Yet after every task, every accomplishment,
Nothing can compare to truly experiencing you
Dancing in your presence though not moving a limbo
Nothing can compare to your tenor notes that caress my ears
Your soprano that lifts my spirits
Your majestic song that embellishes my every mood

Oh music, you are the feeling of flying
The empowerment of my every cell
My beautifully disgusting butterfly-inducing depressing love

Oh music, you are love that cripples my resolve.
You are anger that plunders even the most buoyant souls,
You are faith that reaches the densest of minds.

Oh music, you are everything
Everything you are
You are every feeling every thought,
Every great beautiful thing is you.

Everyone is alive in you,
Every soul dances with you.
Every heart beats with you,
Especially mine, oh music.
