The Bike
Inspired by William Blake’s The Tyger (1794)
Bike Bike, on my back,
Carry thou across the dense bush to thy paradise.
What genius design and forge,
Could form thy lightweight body with a full suspension.
Cross the country trail with your tie,
Roar up the steep mountain slope with my thigh.
Feeling the warm breeze blowing over my body,
This is my desire for a leisure life.
Sometimes we go crazy
Into the remotest part of the forest,
No noise of the city, nor pressure from academics,
But a fine world belongs to thee and I.
As an old chap of mine,
Thou take me exploring the great natural world,
Bringing me loads of joy on the road,
While I give thee all the passion I have.
Bike Bike, on my back,
Take thou across the dense brush back to the shed
What genius design and forge,
Could form thy lightweight body with a full suspension.
