Hello, My Friend

Hello, My cherished friend so dear,
Beneath the window we both stand,
Gazing at the moon, so clear.
Through the time, I see you there

I wonder of your visage fair,
With hair like a black cascade
And eyes that flow like liquid rare
As the sun begins its serenade.

Hello, My cherished friend so dear,
Beneath the window we both stand,
Gazing at the sea, so wide.
Through the time, I see you there

I wonder of your life's expanse,
A chance to learn and freely roam,
Unburdened by tedious demands,
Of serving a husband, such a tiresome tome.

Beloved companion of mine,
Some secrets I'll confide,
I refuse to be treated as an object,
No longer shall I hide,
Within the house, an empty prospect.

Beloved companion of mine,
Let me share news of delight,
My feet now roam without a line,
My life no longer intertwined,
With another's, I embrace my might.

Hello, My cherished friend so dear,
so true, Our journey lies ahead,
a road untrodden,
Though hand in hand we cannot do,
Together we'll reach the light, unbroken.
