Thousands of Umbrellas

Thousands of
Umbrellas pushing
Against the
Forever falling rain
We fight a mostly losing battle
Trying to keep our hearts dry
We let our arms and legs get wet
Raincoats don’t help much,
Thousands of umbrellas
Breaking and crashing
They fall broken to the
Ground
Nobody cries
Even though
They were our trusty shields
