Past of Perfection

A saddening thing
Longing for my past
An unattainable desire
How it left me so fast
My own forsaken childhood
Filled with toys and trees
When my problems were papercuts
When I was scared of the breeze
How I wish I could build
An old time machine
Like the ones I once saw
In children's magazines
It was never always easy
Through all my mistakes
Yet I wish I had time
To slam on the brakes
